Hello World!
This is Dan Vogel, Director of Sales for H2. I’m offering this case history for our Hydrogen-On-Demand units. One of our Rolling Demos is a ‘77 Cadillac Eldorado. This last weekend ( Thanksgiving) I drove the Cadillac to Spokane, Washington from Whitefish, Montana. A trip of 253 miles, three Mountain Passes, two lane mountain and prairie highway, I-90 freeway stretches and a little, well, urban( Montana style) city driving. The two major passes are Lookout and 4th of July on the I-90 stretch. The trip to Spokane was done without the Hydrogen turned on. I recorded 11 mpg over the course of the trip and the cars behavior was predictably heavy.
With the 19 plate generator turned on I returned to Whitefish by the exact opposite course. The passes are steeper and create more load going East than West and the average speed was approximately 5 mph faster due to traffic. On my return to Whitefish I recorded a 31% increase in mpg or 16 miles per gallon rate of usage. Keep in mind that this was during greater loads and speeds than the first trip. Additionally the car behaved quite differently. The reaction to the accelerator was quicker and brighter, it felt more powerful ( it only produces 180 hp out of the stock 425 cu in engine) and seemed to run better overall.
